A bible-believing, Spirit-filled, Christ-centred non-denominational church, serving the ex-mining community of South Elmsall.

We are situated on the boarder of West and South Yorkshire, roughly half-way between Pontefract and Doncaster, just a couple of miles off the A1.

We are a friendly bunch of imperfect people who love and worship our perfect God, and try to show His love and share the hope of the Good News of Jesus Christ with all those we come in contact with.

Check out the video below.

We have been called to shine the light of Christ into our community, and we do that by being involved with our community.

Palms Coffee Lounge is the central hub for all that we do. It is far more than just another cafe, and most of the vision is focused here.

We host the NHS as a Covid vaccine drop-in centre and will soon be the meeting point for the White Rose Surgery Healthy Hearts Club.

We will also soon be the hub for SESKU Food Bank and we are looking to start other, self-help groups that are much needed in our community.

Our main service starts at 10: 30, so if you want to come  for that then any time between 10:15 and 10: 30. Don’t worry if you are late, there will be someone to greet you and show you to a seat; just join in when you arrive.

We are a very friendly bunch at Oasis, and you can expect a warm welcome to you and your family. You will receive a welcome pack which includes a free bible, and shown to the main hall. We give the notices at the beginning of the service, to make everyone aware of what’s happening through the week, then we get down to praising the Lord. The bible encourages to sing and to make a joyful noise to God, and we do just that. This prepares us to receive the word of God, and we are strongly grounded in the bible. We are an Evangelical, Spirit-filled church and, while we don’t encourage some of the excesses of some churches, we are very open to the move of the Spirit, so long as it agrees with and conforms to scripture. We do have communion, but this does not happen every week, so that it does not become a cold tradition just done for the sake of it. After the service we stay behind for fellowship as long as people want – and drink coffee! (Tea and cold drinks are also available).

We are led by the Spirit and we can’t put a time limit on Him, but generally speaking around 90 minutes. But please don’t rush off afterwards, we stay behind for fellowship and have tea or coffee (we have freshly ground coffee by the way) and usually cake and/or biscuits.

Clothes! Seriously though, come as you are. We have no set requirements, although perhaps best to leave bikinis/speedos for the beach 😉

Absolutely! we are very family-friendly and welcome children. The kids stay with us for the praise and worship and then go for more age appropriate church. We have  our version of Sunday school – Camel Club, for children up to 9 years old. 10 to 15 years old have Curious Kids Church, and over 15 years are expected to stay in the main meeting with the adults.

Our Children’s leaders have had all their background checks done and are qualified to lead the groups.
