Outreach & Missions

We believe that we have the best news this world could ever hear, and we have a duty to spread that ‘Good News’. Jesus told us at the end of Matthew’s Gospel that all authority in heaven and earth has been given to Him. He is the ultimate authority, and He tells us to go into all the earth and make disciples of all nations.
We go into our bit of all the world, here in South Elmsall, and obey our Lord and Saviour. We do this by evangelism, gossiping the Gospel, and sharing the love of Christ in as practical a way as possible. Whether that’s through volunteering in Palms, or going on the streets of South Elmsall, we share the word as Christ compels us to.
We also pray for and financially support our fellow brothers and sisters from Comfort International, working in places like The Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa helping to share the love of Christ in some dangerous and difficult places.

Find out what to expect

We are situated just off the main road through South Elmsall, next to Home Bargains.

Our address is:

Oasis Church

10a Exchange St.

South Elmsall

Pontefract WF9 2RD

Our doors open at 9: 45 on Sunday Mornings and we have a 10 Minute prayer time at 10:00 am, So if you want to arrive early and join us in praying for the meeting, anytime before 10. Our main service starts at 10: 30, so if you want to come  for that then any time between 10:15 and 10: 30. Don’t worry if you are late, there will be someone to greet you and show you to a seat; just join in when you arrive.

If you drive past the church you will enter a large Aldi car park. Parking is free for the first two hours.

We are a very friendly bunch at Oasis, and you can expect a warm welcome to you and your family. You will receive a welcome pack, and shown to the main hall. We give the notices at the beginning of the service, to make everyone aware of what’s happening through the week, then we get down to praising the Lord. The bible encourages to sing and to make a joyful noise to God, and we do just that. This prepares us to receive the word of God, and we are strongly grounded in the bible. We are an Evangelical, Spirit-filled church and, while we don’t encourage some of the excesses of some churches, we are very open to the move of the Spirit, so long as it agrees with and conforms to scripture. We do have communion, but this does not happen every week, so that it does not become a cold tradition just done for the sake of it. After the service we stay behind for fellowship as long as people want – and drink coffee! (Tea and cold drinks are also available).

We are led by the Spirit and we can’t put a time limit on Him, but generally speaking around 90 minutes. But please don’t rush off afterwards, we stay behind for fellowship and have tea or coffee (we have freshly ground coffee by the way) and usually cake and/or biscuits.

Clothes! Seriously though, come as you are. We have no set requirements, although perhaps best to leave bikinis/speedos for the beach 😉

Absolutely! we are very family-friendly and welcome children. The kids stay with us for the praise and worship and then go for more age appropriate church. We have  our version of Sunday school – Camel Club, for children up to 9 years old. 10 to 15 years old have Curious Kids Church, and over 15 years are expected to stay in the main meeting with the adults.

Our Children’s leaders have had all their background checks done and are qualified to lead the groups.

Ask them! Send us a message via the contact form below, give us a call on 01977 648 394 Or better yet, call in and see us. Palms Coffee Lounge is open Monday till Friday from 10am till 2:00pm. Pop in for an informal chat and a coffee. (Did I mention the coffee).
