Waiting on God Is Not Passive—It’s Personal

Waiting on God is not like waiting for a late bus. It’s not boredom, inactivity, or resignation. Scripture paints a far richer picture.

To wait on the Lord is to serve Him—like a waiter serving the most honoured guest. Attentive. Expectant. Engaged.

On the road to Emmaus, Cleopas and his companion invited Jesus in. They welcomed Him into their home, into their pain, and into their unanswered questions. In the simple act of fellowship—breaking bread together—their eyes were opened.

That’s often how God works. Not in dramatic announcements, but in quiet obedience. Not through rushing, but through presence.

When we wait biblically, we are not doing nothing—we are making room. Room for truth. Room for revelation. Room for God to turn despair into delight.

If you’re waiting today, ask yourself: Have I invited Him in?
