According to Google AI, humans should be good at waiting, after all, we get enough practice at it.
You’ll spend over 4 years in a vehicle… waiting to get to your destination.
You’ll spend 3 years cooking, waiting to eat.
You’ll spend 25 years sleeping, waiting to get up.
You’ll spend over 13 years working, waiting to go home.
This article also said that women spend over 3 years getting ready, waiting to go out
As opposed to men, who spend, on average, over an 82-year period, 45 days getting ready. Which may tell you that men don’t care about their appearance, or their hygiene! But tells me that men spend 3 years waiting at the foot of the stairs yelling, are you ready yet? (I know! It feels much longer!!)
During the build up to Christmas everything seems to get busier. Traffic gets worse, supermarkets are full, queues are longer, and the bills get bigger. Everyone seems to be in such a frenetic rush to get to the ‘Big Day’. Stress and anxiety levels go through the roof, and people get more frustrated and less patient with others.
Advent is all about pausing, taking a breath, getting a spiritual re-charge. It is a time when we wait to remember the greatest gift ever given. That happened over 2,000 years ago. Now we wait, expectantly, for His return.
God wants us to take moments out of our busy days and be still and know that He is God.
If you want to know God given hope, peace, joy, and love this Christmas, learn to wait on the Lord
Isaiah 30:18(b) For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him.
Wait on the Lord and He shall take away your fears and anxieties, He will strengthen you in the inner man, and empower you to rise up like eagles!
Isaiah 40: 31 But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
