Why our church?

We believe that the bible is the infallible word of God, totally inspired by the Holy Spirit.

No traditions made by men can ever replace or supersede it, and any of those which contradict it’s teaching are not just wrong but heretical.

We do not worship the bible, but the one who gave us the bible, and as such give it all the due respect and attention it deserves.

Blessed is the man…. who delights in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night (Psalm 1)

introduction

The Bible is an amazing library of 66 books detailing God’s relationship with His creation. It gives us history, poetry, and exciting stories of individual heroes and villains. But those are not it’s primary goal or function. It is really His story; the means by which we get to know the creator of all things. It shows us where we stand in the light of His glory and grace.

For many it seems like a dry book, hard to read and even harder to understand, but God never intended it to be like that. It is like no other book ever written, and as such cannot be read just like any other book.  It is the infallible word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit moving upon men to write down the heart of God towards His people: It is His love letter to us, to show us the way to a better life now, and eternal life with Him.

If we are going to understand it then we need the Holy Spirit’s guidance and counsel, and for us to get that, we have to come to Him with the right heart and attitude.

The following is our advice and is by no means the only way to study, but we’ve found it to be the best for us, and we encourage you to try it out.

First things first

We are told that the most important meal of the day is breakfast, and if that’s true for our physical needs, it is more so for our spiritual needs. If we are to be spiritually strong to face whatever comes our way through the day, it is vital we ‘fill-up’ on spiritual food at the start of the day.

And just as important is what we fill up on. We need to make sure that what we are reading, if other than scripture, is biblical and sound.  Make sure that what you read is going to bring health to your spirit and not pander to the flesh.
